These plants were grown from seeds that I saved from my last crop of Luffa Gourds, way back in 2019! If you allow these gourds to dry out completely on the vine, they can be peeled, revealing a soft inner sponge that can be used for bathing or cleaning. (If you’d like them to be pure white you must soak them in a bleach bath.) Loofah gourds can also be eaten when they’re small and immature; cook them up like you would a small zucchini or other squash.
Pickup on 6/28 & 6/29 from 10-4pm @ Rachel’s House — 4839 Date St. San Diego, CA 92102.
