'Summer Sunset' Curated Cutting Garden

A curated collection of 50 plants for your cut flower garden, chosen by Rachel because they are "in season" and ideal cultivars to grow for bouquets and floral arrangements.

All of these warm season annuals are easy to grow, cut-and-come-again flowers that we have grown before and love. The “Summer Sunset” Curated Cutting Garden will begin blooming midsummer, and continue pumping out the blooms into the fall.

CCG Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 30th at Rachel’s house in south City Heights, San Diego. Address will be emailed one week prior. If you can’t pick up on 5/30, email Rachel to schedule another day: Psalterfarmflowers@gmail.com.

Each tray includes focal flowers, secondary flowers, and accent flowers to add sparkle and interest to your bouquets and arrangements. 

Our Summer Sunset tray includes 2-10 plants each of:

  1. Marigold ‘Coco Deep Orange’ (Tagetes erecta)

  2. Cosmos ‘Apricotta’ (Cosmos Bipinnatus)

  3. Zinnia ‘Persian Carpet’ (Zinnia haagiana)

  4. Coreopsis ‘Sunburst’ (Coreopsis grandiflora)

  5. Phlox ‘Cherry Caramel’ (Phlox drummondii)

  6. Celosia ‘Summer Sherbet’ (Celosia argentea plumosa)

  7. Amaranth ‘New Mexico’ (Amaranthus hypochondriacus)

  8. Cosmos ‘Rubenza’ (Cosmos bipinnatus)

  9. Zinnia ‘Oklahoma Ivory’ (Zinnia elegans)

  10. Gomphrena ‘Audray Purple-Red’ (Gomphrena globosa)

Please note, there are no returns or refunds on a tray once purchased, but they are transferrable to a family member or friend.

You must pick up your tray, or send a delegate to do so, on 5/30, or your tray will be donated to a neighbor. If you’d like to reschedule your pickup for 5/31 or 6/1, email Psalterfarmflowers@gmail.com.

Plants will come in a 50-cell tray that can be reused later in your garden to start seeds. When planting your cutting garden, use a butter knife from the kitchen to gently lift the plants from their cells. We recommend that you put your plants in the ground, or pot them up into larger pots, within one week of receiving them.

All of these flowers can be planted 6-12 inches apart in your garden, depending on how much space you have available. Depending on your chosen spacing, one tray will require anywhere from 10-50 sq. ft. of growing space.
